With a population of more than 9,000, the Passage commune is located in the Lot-et-Garonne department of New Aquitaine. Located in the agglomeration of Agen, it takes place on the banks of the Garonne, in the heart of ancient Gascony.
Composed of two districts before the French Revolution in the late eighteenth century, the Passage is reunited and separated from Agen in 1795. Become independent, however, continues to benefit from the growth of its rich neighbor, becoming the fifth city of the department in terms of population.
