Near Doue-la-Fontaine and Saumur, the common Louresse-Rochemenier is primarily an agricultural town: nurseries, roses etc.. But it is also a tourist town famous for its troglodyte village of Rochemenier which hosts 70,000 visitors annually. Other heritage items are also remarkable as the Gouré mill, windmill said "Cavier" as well as wash houses and the ruins of the church Varannes destroyed by the Huguenots in 1567. Two restaurants offer local specialty wrens: the focaccia baked in an oven.
