Oppède

The Notre-Dame-d'Alidon is located in the old Oppède in height. Rebuilt in the early sixteenth century, it has a Romanesque style with Gothic additions. This collegial, whose restoration is sponsored by Michel Leeb, offers a breathtaking panorama of the rest of the region.

Also in the old Oppède you can admire the ruins of a medieval castle and stalls. Round, visitors can enjoy the homes of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, and restored wash houses. Savvy eyes will see engraved on a stone fortification, a magic square.

Going up to the Notre-Dame-d'Alidon, one can discover the chapel of the White Penitents, or the chapel Saint-Antonin. One can also see some remains of the fortifications in the old village.

House Gabrielli, an assembly of several medieval houses, still has its beautiful architecture in Oppède.

Oppède around the mill St. Augustine, or the old terraces Sainte-Cécile, a set of fifteen terraces welcoming several plant species of the Luberon, also attract visitors.

Oppède offers each year, especially on sunny days, various entertaining events.

The Oppède market is held every Saturday morning.

In July and August, the city hosts its Music with numerous concerts in Oppède-le-Vieux.

In August, the weekend of the St. Lawrence, the town has its feast day on five days.

The harvest festival is held the third weekend of October with various events.
