Home vaulter Renaud Lavillenie Earth, Pérignat-lès-Sarliève is a charming market town of Puy-de-Dôme part of the urban area of Clermont-Ferrand. Located at the foot of the Gergovie plateau, it is only six kilometers from the ancient regional capital of Auvergne.
The town of Pérignat-lès-Sarliève experiencing recent history and was created in 1873 by splitting with the city of Aubière. The site however has much more ancient origins, and next to a lake experienced an occupation in the Gallo-Roman era.
