Rhone city of more than 10 000 inhabitants, Pierre-Bénite takes place at the limits of Lyon, not far from Saint-Genis-Laval, Feyzin, or Vénissieux. It is located on the banks of the Rhone, and is an integral part of the current Metropolis of Lyon.
The town of Pierre-Bénite was born really in the nineteenth century, more precisely in 1869, when declared independent of Oullins. Since then, this small town has developed strongly, thanks to its strong market gardening tradition that still enchants the neighboring Lyonnais. The one that owes its name to a granite stone that was once used by boatmen to moor and that is now found next to the town hall, has also given its name to a famous variety of salad, the batavia of Pierre-Bénite.
Dynamic both from a cultural and industrial point of view, the city of Pierre-Bénite also has an interesting historical heritage, as well as a park of green spaces very provided.
