Town of Cotes d'Armor in Brittany, Ploufragan takes place just a few kilometers from Saint-Brieuc. It covers more than 2,700 hectares and is located in the Goëlo Valley, near Tregueux, Saint-Donan and Langueux.

Inhabited for over 5,000 years, as evidenced by the megaliths that still stand proudly territory Ploufragan developed mainly under the influence of Fragan, a Breton island of Britain came head to settle on the scene in the sixth century. The town took over the centuries his face current pace, knowing an important economic development in the twentieth century with the development of its industrial zone.

Popular with tourists, the Brittany town also has an interesting prehistoric heritage.

Things to see and do

After a tour of St. Peter's church, beautiful neo-Gothic building of the nineteenth century, or in the many chapels present, you can admire the megalithic heritage of the town. The program of your walks, covered walkways built between 3000 and 2000 BC

Do not miss therefore the grave of the installed Valley in the heart of downtown, the Comforter and long room over fifteen meters and the Grand Argantel recovered in the second half of the nineteenth century.

The town also has several standing stones with those of the shoe and the Valley.

You can also enjoy the different washing and fountains of Ploufragan. That of the Living Bridge, dedicated to Saint Gildas, was once the subject of a major pilgrimage as it was reputed to cure eye and childhood skin diseases.

Ploufragan presents also several marked hiking trails follow on foot or mountain bike to enjoy the fauna and local flora.

Events and festivities

The weekly market is held every Friday morning.

In early April, a fire sale is offered, as is a garage sale.

Cultural and sporting events are organized throughout the year.

In October, Ploufragan celebrates Science Day with many activities for all ages.
