Pordic commune is situated in the Cotes d'Armor department in Brittany, about 10 km northwest of the town of Saint-Brieuc.

In the Middle Ages Pordic is established as a parish, the first preserved mention date in 1160.
Gallo-Roman traces found on the coast, such as villas foundations to the "Point" or the discovery of the ruins of "Bernains Camp" near the village of Quéré, attest to an earlier human presence.
It was in May 1836 by a royal decree that the town loses its nine villages on the right bank of the Ic. The town thus separated from the river boats that offered a natural dry harbor loses the place that gave its name.
The Pordic built heritage consists of several buildings with high historical value, as the guard, the mansion Pre Pean, the Breakthrough bridge, or the chapel of the Guard.

Pordic is a Breton town with many faces: a wild countryside and protected the rich and dense vegetation, 6 km of coastline that are home to two sheltered beaches and secret coves, but also a flowered city center combining perfectly tradition and modernity.
Many sites to visit during your stay. Among them, the guard. Located on the rocky coast, it was a strategic place in wartime. The guardhouse was built in the thirteenth century and then demolished to be rebuilt. In 1793, it features a ball oven and two guns installed below, facing the sea. The town will however never attacked.
The chapel of the Guard was built in 1849 in the Guingard cross. It had to be seen as a beacon, but also inspire confidence, courage and gratitude to the fishermen.
The mansion Pre Péan is also a remarkable building to discover. Built in 1722, it has notably a fortified perimeter wall and a double door. Conen the lords of Pre Péan, who had at the time a very large part of Pordic, owned the manor. Louis Conen Pre Pean, the French shorthand father is especially inhabited.
During a hike or bike, admire the chapel of the medieval Vaudic. In ancient origin was traced to its reconstruction in 1387. It was restored at different times and seems to keep the Middle Ages today that the choir window. It also has other interesting features such as the pulpit from 1665 and a painting depicting St. Anthony.
The Breakthrough Bridge viaduct is also a must to Pordic. Located on the border of Commons and Pordic Plérin, this bridge built by Louis Harel of Noah is the tallest building on the railway line Saint-Brieuc-Paimpol early twentieth century. You can visit the bike by making the "fishermen circuit", a bike tour of 15 km from the city center.
Many walks or bike can discover in family, couple or between friends Pordic and its surroundings. You can particularly admire the rock of the Cuckoo, cliffs and valleys, take a swim at the beach of Petit Havre or that of the barrel, or see the villa Massignon.
A local market is held every Friday morning at Pordic the square of the Post. This appointment friendly and warm is especially valuable during the summer, with the number of visitors that make it lively.
Fest-Noz, from Brittany festival is held in November to Pordic, within the commune village hall. This is an opportunity to discover the music and Breton dances in a festive atmosphere, with family or friends.
