Commune of the Chartreuse Regional Nature Park, Saint-Égrève takes place in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, in the department of Isère. Member of the Grenoble metropolis, it is surrounded by the Chartreuse massif and the Isère river.
It is in the XIth century that the commune of Saint-Égrève begins, at the location of the present district of La Monta, the oldest of the city. Long agricultural village focused on culture and breeding, Saint-Égrève knows its hour of glory at the heart of the Second World War, notably thanks to its proximity with Grenoble, the Capital of the maquis.
After having experienced a massive urbanization since the 1950s, the commune of Saint-Égrève is a pleasant and modern city that benefits from the influence of Grenoble and its tourist sites. Even today, it is possible to appreciate a heritage rich in interest.
