South Gate of the Beaujolais, Sarcey, small agricultural commune, invites you to the sweetness of life and the discovery of its vineyards. But Sarcey, it is also a beautiful land, nestled between the valleys of Soanan and Azergues in the North and Turdine in the South. Not far from Lyon, this charming town of character has kept its rural and prosperous side always thanks to the agriculture spreading over the vast undulating plateau that it occupies. Surrounded by prestigious massifs such as the Jura and the Alps, the village opens onto splendid panoramas of nature. The cultivated fields dedicated to cereals alternate with the vineyards to give a charming landscape, stretching as far as the eye can see in a mosaic of colors.
Its history remains marked by its Gallo-Roman origins and its activity turned towards agriculture, vineyard and breeding already present in remote times. Yet the nineteenth century saw the emergence of handicrafts such as fabrics, tiles and bricks. But these activities will soon fall back into oblivion and Sarcey will resume its activity of always: farming. The linden of Sully planted in the center of the village appears on its coat of arms where the motto "we hold good" is inscribed in capital letter.
