Speleological site located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the prehistoric cave of Sare takes place in a town with typical Basque Country architecture and classified among the Most Beautiful Villages of France.
Dedicated to tourism since the 20th century, the prehistoric cave of Sare offers a sound and light tour that addresses the themes of geology, prehistory, mythology and even the origins of the Basque people. On the surface, visitors have access to a reconstituted megalithic park as well as an interesting museum dedicated to the anthropologist José Miguel de Barandiaran.
One of the cavities of the cave is also reserved for teaching caving and the site also has picnic tables and a bar to take a break at the end of the visit.
