A beautiful Provençal Romanesque style building listed in the supplementary inventory of Historic Monuments, the Saint-Claude de Sigonce church was built in the 14th century. Very massive, it is flanked by buttresses and is covered with a slate roof.
Almost completely remodeled at the beginning of the 14th century, it today reveals an elegant Gothic style interior with a vaulted nave on a ribbed crossing and a unique aisle. It overlooks the choir through a triumphant arch supported on two polygonal piers.
The originality of the Saint-Claude church of Sigonce lies mainly in its roof with a slope opposed by the eminence of the three bays and the choir. Unique in its kind, this polylobed roof forms a very impressive undulation of stones.
Boasting remarkable acoustics, the building regularly hosts concerts of all types.
