Workshop selling basketwork to individuals and professionals. Discover the basketry workshop, Étienne and Aurélien Métézeau, perpetuating a long family tradition. Rich in know-how passed down from father to son for eight generations, he presents his pieces and his art at the heart of his workspace. You will see that working with wicker is a job of patience and skill! He cultivates the plant himself and selects it, depending on the workpiece, from among 20 varieties. Because indeed, each species has its properties: elasticity, robustness, color... After a lot of care, the wicker is transformed into all kinds of objects, under the agile fingers of the basket maker who gives you a demonstration, you can order tailor-made your baskets, drawers to your dimensions: you will then see the basket take shape before your eyes. If this tempts you, you can register for an introductory course, you will learn this ancestral art in your turn! A basketry course of at least 2 days can be organized for 1 to 2 people or for groups of 5 or 6 people. One-day courses (a round basket) are offered every Saturday in July and August from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Information on +33 2 36 97 41 87 or +33 6 80 55 44 16.
