Commune of Haute-Savoie, in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region of more than 8000 inhabitants, Ville-la-Grand takes place fifty kilometers from Annecy in the Arve valley. It is located in the suburbs of Annemasse, on the border of Switzerland and the canton of Geneva.
Of ancient origin, the common Ville-la-Grand develops from the Gallo-Roman, including the creation of a villa by a Roman rewarded by Julius Caesar. Later property of the Duchy of Savoy and the Kingdom of Sardinia from the early eighteenth century, it joined France a few decades later.
Today, continuing Savoyard city attract visitors with its rich natural and historical heritage, as well as its ideal location for exploring the Savoie and neighboring Switzerland.
