Villy-le-Bouveret is a commune in Haute-Savoie in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, 22 km north of Annecy.
The village, which has about 600 inhabitants, is situated on an average mountain at the foot of Mount Salève and its territory whose altitude varies from 600 to 800 m is bordered by streams.
The activity has always been agricultural (breeding, cultivation of cereals and fruit trees). The villagers also once cultivated beans, a specificity that gave their name: the Favis.
Depending on a small seigneury, Villy-le-Bouveret like all Savoy did not reintegrate France until 1860. Its small patrimony, its green environment and its associative vitality make it a pleasant stage for the amateurs of green tourism.
