- Throughout the "Robert Capa, icons" exhibition, organized as part of the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings, Les Franciscaines is helping to perpetuate the memory through meetings and workshops. - Normandy, June 6,1944 ! History meets us for one of those epics that have forever marked the memory of mankind. Writers, journalists and war correspondents will recount the gigantic landing of troops from all over the world. Like Robert Capa, who set off in a storm of steel with the first assault wave to Omaha Beach, bringing back pictures that have become famous. - From the preparations for D-Day to the Liberation, this kaleidoscope of decisive moments is a moving reminder that "the fortitude, goodness and optimism of each and every one of us are the strongest and most heroic bulwarks against the forces of darkness" (Richard Whelan).
