Exposition Pierre Balas "Ce Peuple Animal"
- From 24 may to 14 july 2024
- 4 Rue Carnot, Musée-Galerie Carnot
- Pierre Balas's canvases, from his very large formats to his smaller works, all deeply express the territory : lived, dreamt and transcended. It's a challenge for the Galerie-Carnot museum in Villeneuve-sur-Yonne to show Pierre Balas's work in its entirety in one of its exhibition rooms. - His artistic work, whether pictorial or scriptural, exploits the creator's dense, almost telescopic relationship with place. Here, it is his own studio, surrounded by forest, a poplar grove and overlooking a pond. - By expressing in this exhibition his admiration for the animal forces that inhabit and animate it, Pierre Balas highlights the relationship we have with our often little-known worlds, and paints a portrait in relief of a humanity that is far more instinctive than we might think. - Over the course of his canvases, he develops a representation of his immediate environment, richly documented by his keen observation, and he apprehends the terrain in all its orderliness and its inhabitants in an almost scientific way. - His movements and landscapes intertwine and interweave, and the places where he lives and the people who live there resonate with each other. - Above all, this exhibition is a gateway to another world, at its most intimate for the artist : the place of his creation, and at its most universal : our relationship with others in a defined place.
