The Beaujolais vineyards extend over an area of 22,500 hectares and boast 12 different appellations (quality wine-producing areas): 2 producing the AOC wines Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages, and 10 producing the crus superior wines of Brouilly, Chénas, Chiroubles, Côte-de-Brouilly, Fleurie, Juliénas, Morgon, Moulin à Vent, Régnié and Saint-Amour.
