• Henri IV is enthroned opposite the Town Hall and the Tourist Office.
• On your left, the fountain Alfred de Vigny and the high station of the funicular.
• It connects the upper town to the lower town free of charge through the palm grove and leads directly to the SNCF train station.

• Former Gassion Hotel

• On your right, one of the finest luxury hotels dating from the nineteenth century: The Hotel Gassion.
• Below, on your left, the Hôtel du département with its mirror wall and Japanese gardens.

• The Parliament of Navarre

• You are now at the foot of the Parliament of Navarre which was born in 1620, year of the union of Béarn and France.
• The latter is established in the former courthouse built in 1585...
• It still houses today part of the General Council of Pyrénées-Atlantiques.

• The castle district

• After having climbed the access ramp, you have arrived at the Place de la Déportation.
• In front of you the historical and pedestrian district of the castle, in the East the Parliament of Navarre, in the West the castle of Pau and in the South, our magnificent panorama on the Pyrenees.

• Place des Etats

• As you stroll through the historic castle district, many bars and restaurants offer a wide range of local cuisine or the end of the world...
• This picturesque area is very lively, especially on weekends and in the summer, when the terraces invade its cobbled streets.
