The 3 Calvaries

Depart from the town of Licques, latitude 50.7843600 (N 50° 47’ 4”), longitude 1.9315100 (E 1° 55’ 53”)

• 1. You leave the Abbey and go down the rue du Bourg
• 2. You arrive on the "place du bas" of the village, you turn right and take the sidewalk along the D191 for 750 meters
• 3. You turn to the third street on your left, just after the football field: in front of you, you can admire the first Calvary
• 4.200 m further, you continue on the path in front of you: you follow the gr128
• 5. At the end of this path, turn right onto a small road and then again right towards Canchy

• You leave the first road on your left and take the second one: you pass in front of the shelter of the mill of Canchy (Old Mill with water at the edge of the river "Hem", now restored in house). You follow the path, which forks to the left and continue straight leaving on your left the small road.

• 6. At the intersection, turn right and catch the gr128
• 7. At the crossroads, turn right, towards the village of Audenfort. You cross this village and take the street on the right, you stay on the same road that turns left
• 8. You cross the bridge over the river "Hem" near the Moulin d'Audenfort and continue straight ahead
• 9. You continue on the path in front of you
• 10. At the junction with the D191, turn right and take the D191 carefully for 250 meters
• 11. Carefully cross the D191 and continue your path on the path on your left
• 12. At the intersection with the D216, turn right. You step over the river "Hem" and pass near the place called the Red Fort
• 13. At the intersection, turn right and follow the road for 750 meters
• 14. Before arriving at the 2nd Calvary, you take the path on the left and follow the fields of Licques
• 15. At the junction with the D215, turn left and continue cautiously straight to Hocquinghen. On your right, you will notice a nightmare, well hidden, at the entrance of a path
• 16. At the intersection of the D215 and the D206, turn right and proceed cautiously on the D206
• You take the first road on your right to arrive at the church of the village: you can admire the only church of our region, which has a campenard sheltering the bell. Leave the church on your left and take the path on the right
• 18. After 300 meters, turn left and continue on the trail for 500 meters. At the next junction of paths, turn right and join the Mille Monts to reach the village of Licques by a beautiful descent after enjoying the breathtaking views overlooking the village
• 19. You arrive at the 3rd Calvary: one of the oldest calvaries in the region, the Calvary of the Abbey was erected in 1742 by the brotherhood of the Blessed Sacrament of Licques. You turn left on the D215 to return to the starting point: the Abbey of Licques, which awaits you on your right after a last small climb!
