Discovering Bonnétable

• Tourist Station

• Possibility to take the steam train or railcars on the old railway line "Beillé Bonnétable".
• Regular trains run every Sunday in July / August.
• Theme trains are also organized regularly.

• Vegetable Garden, rue d'Isly

• Former garden of the castle of Bonnétable, it was built in the 19th century by the Buhler brothers, landscapers, under the command of Sosthène de la Rochefoucauld.
• At the entrance, the old stables now house the Tourist Office and an exhibition hall. Two tackles have been restored and boxes for horses have been renovated.
• Classified greenhouses are also visible to the right of the entrance.
• As you wander through the alleys, you will be able to discover the various species of plants and vegetables of the past. You will also be able to discover the various parcels: aromatic, red fruits, conservatory orchard,... and basins.

• Saint Sulpice Church

• Inside, you can admire magnificent stained glass windows made by Fialeix, a famous master glassmaker of the 19th century.
• In the windows of the choir, we can see different stages of the life of Saint Sulpice.

• Public Park

• Public park.
• Parking, games for children, fitness trail, walk along the Tripoulain River, fishing in the ponds at the bottom of the park.

• New Norman House

• Neo Norman House (private): 19th century house with two wooden sculptures representing the owner (with the key) and the housewife (with the broom).
• Next to the former hotel of the Lion d'Or, formerly called rotund because the cars were turning to this place.

• Market place

• The statue of Melusine (protector of the city) adorns the city since 2001.

• Parade

• The name of this place is the only vestige of the first castle of Bonnétable.
• The hall is built in 1856. There is a bell tower and two Wagner clocks.
• Around the square, several houses date from the 16th and 17th centuries

• Saint Nicolas Street

• In this street, you will be able to observe several houses of the XV, XVI and XVIIth century as well as the old town hall (local of the catholic relief) which was formerly a chapel.

• Exhibition of old tractors

• Gilbert Heard, passionate collector, will introduce you and tell you the story of his impressive collection of antique tractors.

• Church of Our Lady of Aulaines

• Listed in the historic monument, it was erected in the twelfth, thirteenth and fifteenth centuries.
• Inside, you can see an 18th century funerary plaque listed in the historic monument.

• Home school of the writer Catherine Paysan

• You will find the charm of the past classes with the furniture, the blackboard, the wood stove and, of course, the smell of ink and chalk!
• In another room, you will discover the exciting life of the writer Catherine Paysan. 18 showcases present the literary career of this outstanding author.
