A circuit to cheerfully jump the streams and admire the landscapes from above!
Promised to the Garonne, the Tarn flows gently into the surrounding countryside. This long walk invites you to discover its banks, the hillsides offering exceptional viewpoints and the shaded valleys with discreet streams.

The departure is from the suspension bridge and the place of remembrance. Car park nearby.
Departure from the Remembrance Square of Villemur-sur-Tarn.
Go opposite the Tarn and take rue des Stradelis on the left, direction Greniers du Roy. Pass in front of the school, continue along rue Henri de Navarre then avenue du Quercy. End up on rue de la Bataille, cross with caution and go a few meters to the right.
1. Turn left and climb the Côte des Filhols (D 29). Pass under a power line, ignore a first departure on the left and reach the next one.
2. Leave the D 29 and take the small road to Combe Salbe on the left. Continue to the right at the next fork and join a crow's feet.
3. Continue to the right, route des Strabols and join the first road on the left.
4. This descends and after crossing a small stream, ascends and joins the D 29. Cross with caution and continue opposite in the direction of Filhols. Go past the hamlet and continue straight ahead, entering the dead end.
5. Take the track to the right at the Colombe farm, walk along the buildings on the left and continue between two fields. Enter the undergrowth and reach the bottom of the descent.
6. Turn left and immediately after, take the shaded path on the right which follows the stream. Cross the D 29 with caution and continue the path opposite in the undergrowth.
7. At the fork, go left on the track. Arrived on the plateau, ignore the departure on the right and continue on the left. Pass a house on the right and reach a start of the path on the right.
8. This follows the Crête de Cambourel then descends to the D22. Note the stone cross on the left and the panoramic view of the Tarn.
9. Turn left on the D 22 then go further, right on the dirt road that runs along the Tarn. Join the D 22, pass in front of the cemetery.
10. Continue straight ahead to enter the old town via rue Saint-Jean. Note, at the beginning of the street, the plaque indicating the 1930 flood. Go past the Town Hall and reach the Place du Souvenir.
