The High Chaumes

Depart from the town of Saint-Anthème, latitude 45.5912500 (N 45° 35’ 29”), longitude 3.8671400 (E 3° 52’ 2”)

• Departure

• Leaving the jasseries of the Great Juniper (Black Rooster), go down right on the D106 for 300m. At the left turn in a pastured meadow, crossed the creek, continue on a terraced path to cross a creek again.

• Stage 2

• Go up the right after crossing a last (third!) stream through the woods of the Grand Goulet. At the exit of this wood, continue straight to the fence, along it by the right to the jasseries of Pégrol (point of interest A).

• Stage 3

• At the end of the fence, turn left to the signage terminal.

• Stage 4

• Turn left and continue to the Three Fountains.

• Stage 5

• Two possibilities:
• 1. Climb to the top of the hill via the small footbridge; at the top magnificent panorama... only on a clear day! Go down to the Supeyres Pass.
• 2. Follow the paved road to the Col des Supeyres where the Gentianes' cottage is located. (accommodation-restoration).

• Stage 6

• Cross the road with caution. Take the path up the left. At the crossroads, turn left again. Further on, we reach the "little rabbit" marker of the "Colporteur des jasseries" trail, along a plantation with his right hand.

• Stage 7

• Follow this marker on the left through the heather.

• Stage 8

• At the creek, turn left onto the terrace path, then continue left in the descent.

• Last straight

• At the crossroads, turn left (we leave the peddler's mark-up), pass the jasserie and continue along the small path in the heather, parallel to the road to reach the Black Rooster.
