Middle mountain walk at the foot of the Gresson Ridge and the Haute Bers, the two Neuweiher glacial lakes are located on the same fault line as Alfeld Lake. Perches Lake (Strensee in Alsatian) nestles in an ancient glacial cirque at an altitude of 1,000 m and is one hour from the Neuweiher.

Access

A car park is available for walkers in Ermensbach (hamlet in the commune of Rimbach). Access from Masevaux: take the D466 towards Ballon d'Alsace as far as the village of Oberbruck and there, follow the road towards Rimbach as far as the crossroads and turn left at the entrance to the village.

Itinerary

From the parking lot, go up the road, passing to your right the chapel 'Notre Dame du Perpétuel secours' and continue straight to the road and follow the signs 'Croix Jaune'. You are on the path of the stones to reach the Neuweiher.

To reach Lac des Perches, take the signposted 'Blue Rectangle' trail. To get back down, take the 'Blue Triangle' markup. You will pass by the village Rimbach to return to the parking lot.
