Loop Matignon - ​​Saint-Pôtan - Ruca

Depart from the town of Matignon, latitude 48.5961400 (N 48° 35’ 46”), longitude -2.2920900 (W 2° 17’ 32”)

• Starting point of the loop

• Opposite the tourist office, take the V4 by Saint-Jean street and go straight ahead to leave the city, direction Z.A of Chemin Vert.

• The Clos Girard

• You have just done 2km and you arrive at a stop. Turn right on rue du Clos Girard and 300 m further, turn right: you will now follow the signs of the loop n ° 22.

• Clos Georget

• Arrive at Clos Georget, turn right. After the stone cross of Bouguenel, take the middle lane which goes down: you will perceive in the distance the steeple of Saint-Pôtan.

• The pond of Roche

• You pass in front of the pond of Roche: this rest and picnic area is also the starting point of a very pretty pedestrian way of 6.5 km.

• The crossing of Saint-Pôtan

• After the entrance sign, immediately take the first street on the left, rue Saint-Maudé. slow down, you will see on the left a pretty point of view of the manor of the City Even (be discreet: it is a private residence) and, on the right, its beautiful alley of chestnut tree. At the end of the street, turn right and then the stop that faces the cafe, to take a left and then right again.
• You walk along the Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul church. You can visit the church. The key can be requested at the town hall. Go past the large porch dated 1842 and turn right on the street Etienne Gouyon.
• Facing the cemetery, turn left and continue straight.
• Cross La Mare Grise and La Hamonaie. Continue straight to cross the Equivy. At the junction, turn right and immediately left, to climb a small gravel road.

• The Arbor

• At the top of the gravel road, turn right and then left again. Continue straight on this path, you will arrive further along the farm buildings of La Tonnelle and continue straight ahead.
• You pass the beautiful private manor of Bois Rouault, Renaissance building probably built in the 16th century by the Gouyon family of Beaucorps. At the Revolution, its owner, Jean-Louis Riou des Gravelles, whose war name was "Sans quartier", engaged with his fellow chouans to many actions sometimes violent. you will notice on the right tower a ridge of ridge still existing but mutilated.

• The return to Matignon

• Cross the Clos Heurtault, continue straight (you will see the bell tower of Matignon). Pass the village of La Croix, then Launay-Boudard and La Mare au Loup. Pass the little bridge over the Rat river that flows further into the bay of Fresnaye.
• at the fork, turn left; after 300 m, turn right by the village of Cuplé-Montplaisir, then Le Champ Rastel and continue straight. In the descent, pay attention to the priority right!
• To arrive at Matignon, two options: straight to find the tourist office or, to join the V4 to Pléboulle and Fréhel, turn left rue Notre-Dame.
