Throughout the year, Mennetou-sur-Cher Tourist Office organises guided tours of the medieval town (information on 02 54 98 12 29). By day and by night, for young and old, discover the history of France and have fun. The visit lasts about two hours and is quite physical because you will be passing through the major periods of history (12th, 13th and 14th centuries), meeting some leading figures (Eleanor of Aquitaine, Philip Augustus, Richard Lionheart, the Black Prince, etc.) as well as some more minor players (Geoffrey of Vierzon, Hervé II of Vierzon, Hersende de Lignières, etc.). You will visit the winding streets and the spiral staircases, read on the walls, and share in the daily life of a wine-making village in the Middle Ages!
