Car park at the entrance to the village, reception area. Pass through the village to the building of the old mine showers, take the path on the right at the end of the tarmac road and follow the signposting.

Itinerary

PDIPR path, yellow signposting.

As you cross the village, you will see several monuments, in particular the war memorial (unique in Hérault) which is at the bottom of the cemetery alley and, on the way out of the cemetery on the right, the family tomb (the story is recounted further on).

You will start at the old stadium and turn right on to the path which crosses a first river. You will then cross the river Espaze several times.

Follow the pretty path along the river to the ruin known as "jasse du Pistole".

Turn left and climb up towards the beech forest to "Mas Castel", a rest area.

Then, take the path southwards to the "sans nom" Pass.

Here you can climb up to the "Caumette" orientation table, from where there is a wonderful view over Hérault and the Mediterranean on a clear day.

Retrace your footsteps and continue the walk down into the valley where you will find the original path.

You will arrive at the stadium. .

When you arrive, you can take the path on the right above the stadium northwards and after a few hundred metres, you will find the Bousquettou aqueduct (1890) in the Roumegouze stream. Bousquettou was an imaginative builder, he was a poacher and it was also he who built the village's war memorial without any plans. As you look westwards from the car park, you will see the Puits Durand (former mine shaft) and you can access it along the path after the bridge over the Esapze (10-minute walk or 3 minutes by car along a trail).

P.S: If you find a stone in your way in the middle of the path, pick it up and place it at the side, the same as you would if you encountered a bramble. That way the path is always tidy and can be enjoyed by your fellow walkers.
