Departure at the junction between the direction "le Mazel" and the direction "la Bourange" on the heights of Retournac after having passed the farm of fromentaux.
Old departure to reach the top of the trail: from Retournac, take the car in the direction of Yssingeaux (D103), drive for 2 km then turn left at a crossroads in the direction of Château de Mercuret, les Revers.
