Nine kilometres form Brive-la-Gaillarde, in the municipality of Varetz, not far from Castel-Novel castle where Colette lived from 1911 to 1923, lies a wonderful tribute to the famous novelist. Created by the landscape architect Anoux Debarre, this magnificent contemporary floral park of around five hectares consists of six themed gardens representing the regions of France that shaped the life and works of Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette. The author of the novel "Claudine at School" is honoured here wonderfully through a unique world where literature intermingles with botany. From the garden of her childhood n Burgundy to the French-style garden of the Palais-Royal, through the wild garden of Franche-Comté, the seaside garden in Brittany, the verdant garden of Corrèze and the sensory garden of Provence, lovers of flowers and other plants are invited on a genuine voyage around France!
The giant maze of 5,000 m² dotted with puzzles, Claudine's schoolyard that invites you to bunk off, and the XXL games to discover with family and friends further add to the fun of this magical place.
