Located in the municipality of Rivière-Pilote, on the south coast of Martinique between Sainte-Luce and Le Marin, Figuier Cove is famous for its charming sandy beach. Sheltered and enjoying plenty of shade from the many coconut palms and sea grape bushes, it's particularly popular with families with children, as its calm waters are perfect for bathing in peace. Kids will also enjoy the play equipment especially set up for them, such as a slide and swings. The beautiful sea beds are also worth a look, perhaps by taking a snorkelling trip. Wearing your flippers, mask and snorkel, you can admire colonies of sea urchins as well as several species of tropical fish. A most pleasant place to visit during your adventures in south Martinique!

On the edge of Figuier Cove beach, in the old Ducanet distillery, the Martinique Ecomuseum provides relevant and interesting exhibitions on the history of Martinique, including objects, reconstructions and scale models. The Amerindian era, the colonial period and the days of slavery, the big sugar cane, coffee and cocoa plantations, and everyday life in Martinique in the 1950s are some of the themes covered here.
