The André-Bloc Antibes villa is located near the lighthouse Garoupe on the Cap d'Antibes.
In a paradisiacal environment, steep site was suitable for building walls devoid of traditional carriers.
The villa was commissioned in 1959 by the architect André Bloc, also a painter, sculptor and founder of the magazine "Architecture Today" in 1930 to his colleague Claude Parent.
André Bloc wanted an experimental construction include using products of modern steel industry (steel). From contemporary style, with cubic forms, it is a manifesto highlighting all the techniques and all the architectural biases of the time.
André Bloc collaborated with Claude Parent to draw the stairs outside.
The villa which wanted a kind of "madness" (a residence dedicated to leisure and receptions in the manner of "follies" of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries) was listed on the Inventory and has the label "Heritage of the twentieth century".
Still privately owned, its amazing and bold exterior can be seen from the outside during a ride on the heights of Cap d'Antibes.
