Villa El Djezaïr was built on the beachfront of the resort Juan-les-Pins, which depends on the city of Antibes in 1922.
His plans were designed by architect Ernest Truch at the request of the owner, Camille Christian. The originality of the house is to address resolutely neo-Moorish style as evidenced besides its name: "El Djezaïr" means "Algeria" in Arabic, a country that had stayed the owner.
A wing was added in 1936 when it bought the villa by Dr. Hery, from Switzerland.
Architecturally, references to the east are multiple (tower minaret overridden loggia with openings dome on pendants decorated Arabist in the dining room, many moucharabieh, that is to say the openings with mesh for aeration and ventilation), and in the park, exotic species were planted.
Now located between the road and the railway seaside road, the villa was included in the inventory in 1999 and labeled "Heritage of the twentieth century." It houses an establishment with a Mediterranean restaurant, a cocktail bar and a garden lounge.
