If you like great horizons, calm and fresh air, come to the heart of the volcanic massif of Cézallier Anzat-le-Luguet, common hamlet of 30 (about 190 inhabitants) in the Natural Park of Auvergne Volcanoes.
Located 17 km from Ardes-sur-Couze, 16 km from Blesle and 21 km from Allanche, the town covers 6 656 hectares; it is the third largest in the department of Puy-de-Dôme and is located between 779 and 1551 meters above sea level.
It is home to the highest point of the Cézallier plateau: Le Signal du Luguet and 9 other peaks including Péπtil, Perche and Chamaroux.
From the top of the track that crosses the Cézallier offers a wonderful panorama of the puy de Dôme, the Sancy massif, the lead of Cantal, Puy Mary and Margeride.
Wild lands of pastures strewn with burons which were formerly used for the manufacture of Saint-Nectaire and which welcome herds of cows in the summer.
A little history: Around the year 1000, the monks clear the land of Cézallier. These newcomers and former owners of the land compete against each other. The lords to show their power build clodcast castles, that is to say a mound surrounded by ditches and a central wooden tower.
