Village fleuri, Bérulle is immersed in a screen of greenery in the Pays d'Othe. At the limit of the department of Yonne, Bérulle is located halfway between Troyes and Sens (35 km), 7 km from the exit "Vulaines" of the A5 motorway, 50 km from Auxerre. Bérulle is thus found at the confluences of Champagne-Ardenne and Burgundy from which it derives the respective charms. Its communal territory extends over 1560 hectares of which 240 ha in the communal forest at an altitude of 160 meters. Several houses of the borough and of certain hamlets are already included in the Napoleonic cadastre. Its population is currently about 260 inhabitants.
Characterized by the presence of forests, water, clay and of former iron ore, Bérulle, formerly called Séant en Othe, takes its current name from the lords of Bérulle settled in the 16th century in the parish. The quality of the landscapes of the municipality allowed him to be listed in the inventory of the picturesque sites of the department of Aube. The richness of its history, its landscapes, its built make Bérulle a framework sought for its welcome and quality of life.
In addition to the village, the commune of Bérulle comprises 11 hamlets: Bois le Roi, Quincarlets, Chalois, Dupins, Petit Jarronnée, Champ-Marin, Pierrefitte, Berluviers, Clos Marteau, Langots and Fort-Jacquet.
