Town of Mosel in East Grand region Boulay-Moselle takes place about thirty kilometers from Metz, in the heart of the country Nied, Lorraine. It is located not far from Téterchen, Roupeldange and Helston.

Ancient medieval walled city, Boulay-Moselle reported to the duchy of Lorraine until its annexation by France in the mid eighteenth century. Long turned to the production of beer with its many breweries, common in eastern France suffered heavy damage during the bombings of World War II. Today almost completely rebuilt, it nevertheless retains many old buildings that testify to its rich history and bring all its charm and strength to the city. Epicureans will appreciate its macaroons, a local specialty that made it famous.

Things to see and do

Built in the late eighteenth century, the church Saint-Etienne has the particularity to unveil its visitors a beautiful steeple bulbs nineteenth century. In its interior, it is also possible to discover the baptismal font of the sixteenth century, the eighteenth liturgical furniture or a monumental organ straight out of the local Dalston-Haerpfer factory.

The city also has a Protestant church in the late nineteenth century to replace an older building. Neo-Gothic style, he too has an organ in the manufacturing world renowned Dalstein-Haerpfer.

Ancient walled city, Boulay-Moselle still has some remains of its walls with two old half turns nicknamed Dada old ladies.

Walking through the town and its old center, be sure not to admire other buildings of interest such as the ruins of the castle of the twelfth century, the old college Irish Recollects of the eighteenth or the houses of the seventeenth century to beautiful decorated lintels.

The city also hosts a Soviet necropolis with four ossuaries of the Second World War and from the camp Ban-Saint-Jean Denting. A memorial to Ukrainian victims is also visible.

Several marked hiking trails, including a leaving old ladies Dada can be borrowed to enjoy the historic and natural heritage of the city.

Events and festivities

The weekly market is held every Friday morning.

In mid-July fireworks is proposed on the occasion of the celebrations of the national holiday.
