Away from major roads, south of Burgundy, a region Brionnais remains too little known. Its discovery is often a favorite and insiders have to constantly attend and make known the priceless architectural treasure religious Roman peppering its landscape of lush farmland. Like this geographical region to which it belongs, Chauffailles is a bit away from major centers (Roanne 35 km - 60 km Macon - Lyon 80 km) but is one of those endearing small towns to which one likes to return .

Local history has retained the lordship of Chauffailles was in the possession of the family of Amanzé, which remains the current castle, built in the 15th century (after the damage of the Revolution, he came to us with an appearance of 19th century). Today it houses, in summer, exhibitions of paintings. Its two large round towers topped with conical roofs are part of the traditional stereotypes of the city especially since they give themselves reflections of water from the nearby pond to the delight of fishermen. This site also includes the sports park and invites us to pleasant walks chauffaillonnes.

The great privilege of Chauffailles is indeed constitute the best starting point for exploring a hilly, green and often wooded. Well-being, freshness and fullness are invariably at the rendezvous at the option of hiking trails well maintained and marked. Due to their different levels of difficulty, they serve as much to families as great sportsmen and can be performed on foot or by bike.
