In the department of Saône-et-Loire in Burgundy, Crêches-sur-Saône is a peaceful and cozy village situated along the Saône river, about 10 km from Macon.

Occupied since ancient times, the town was mentioned in the tenth century in the ancient charters as the "Cropium" referring to the Roman nobleman Cropus who had erected there a farm.

Crêches-sur-Saône is an attractive town located between vineyards and meadows, near the towns of wine Chânes and Chaintré. It belongs to the Community of Municipalities of the Mâconnais-Beaujolais, territory rich in natural and historical heritage.
