Franconville is located in the Val-d'Oise, in the heart of the Valley of Montmorency, between the Butte de Montmorency and that of Parisis. At 17 kilometers north-west of Paris, Franconville is part of the joint outer ring of suburbs. This is the fifth town in the department.
Even in the village until years 60-70, Franconville has been known for demographic and economic growth comparable to that of the major suburbs of the Paris region.
