Ideally located on one of the most important communications crossroads of the Mediterranean arc, fifteen minutes from the Camargue and La Grande Motte and the Mediterranean beaches by expressways, also fifteen minutes from Montpellier, Nimes and Arles highway, the strong community of nearly 3,500 inhabitants perches on the first foothills overlooking the coast. It has a two thousand year history that dates back to Roman colonization which vestiges remain in the town. Relay the pilgrimage to Saint Jacques de Compostela, she has restored her hospital Saint-Jacques and his royal tower dating from the 13th century, and the town continues the tradition of welcoming pilgrims. Things to see and do

The original church of the eighth century Carolingian, the second tower called Tower Royal Castle 13th century on top of which operates an optical telegraph Chappe model Milan restored identically to those who worked in the early 19th century, Hospital Saint-Jacques of the 13th century, the second town house where the consuls met until 1765, the current City Hall who succeeded him in 1765, the temple that crowns the village at the top of the hill on which it is established, one of the largest in the Languedoc, which was built under Napoleon in the first third of Gallargues castle.

The town has a public swimming pool, tennis courts and bowling alleys. We can go fishing on the banks of Vidourle, check with the local club Preservation Vidourle.

The votive festival of Saint Martin is double many festivals (Spring Festival around May 1, party at the old end of July ...). City of Camargue, Gallargues, throughout the year, organizes bullfights and cowboys with renowned raseteurs. Inquire at the bullfighting club Cleda Lou.
