Also known as the Louis XI castle, the La Côte-Saint-André castle is an ancient medieval building erected in the 13th century. Transformed into a pleasure castle in the 19th century for a religious congregation, it benefits from a partial classification as a Historic Monument.
Located in the heart of the town, the castle of La Côte-Saint-André dominates the entire central town. It now takes the form of a large building flanked by an annex to the north. In the inner courtyard stands a dome converted into an auditorium.
Inside, it is possible to discover a large room with a monumental fireplace and French ceilings, as well as a main staircase with a baluster banister. The site hosts the Berlioz Festival every year. Until 2019, it also housed the Paradis du Chocolat museum.
