La Garde

What marks the most at La Garde is its impressive historical heritage. The village can be enjoyed along the cobbled streets bordered by the vestiges of the past. From the Tower of the Clock built in 1777 to the Place Justin Mussou, the theater of a bloody revolt in 1789, your footsteps will lead you into the old town surrounded by two ramparts with multiple doors. Among the remarkable buildings, the Restanques will attract your attention. This building built before 1584 houses in its old cellars, the museum of vine and wine. From the feudal castle, there is only the southwest tower, rehabilitated as a windmill in 1820. Another vestige not to be missed: the seigneurial windmill rehabilitated in the 70s.
