Les Mazures

Even today two interesting monuments bear witness to the medieval origins of the village of Les Mazures, the 12th century church, partly rebuilt in the 18th century, and the remains of Notre-Dame-de-Consolation, a 13th century religious building. The latter is home to a spring renowned for its therapeutic virtues.

Straddling Les Mazures and the neighboring village, the Vieilles Forges lake is a popular place for walks by locals and visitors alike. Bordered by forests and other meadows, it notably houses a leisure center and a sailing club. You can practice fishing, rowing, canoeing or even hiking in Segway. An acrobatic park is also present on the site.

On the edge of the former Second World War detention camp, now a football stadium, a stele has been installed.

A local market and a flea market, held every year in September.

Contraband festival and Lavoirs festival are organized in the month of June. The event is the scene of several shows of street art, and entertainment of all kinds.

In September, also up to the theme of legends festival which changes each year. For the occasion, the village offers a book fair, dedications, and a magical night market, entertainment, rides unicorns, or even storytelling in the lantern.
