Montfaucon-en-Velay

The town remained famous for its chapel Notre-Dame which houses the work of the Flemish artist, Abel Grimmer. There are twelve paintings illustrating the twelve months of the year, a collection unique to the world dating from the sixteenth century to admire on a free visit or guided. The building also houses a statue of the Virgin of the sixteenth century, and a high altar white marble of Italy.

It is possible to discover also a workshop of sabotier who works from old and traditional techniques.

The market is held every Wednesday morning. A trade fair is proposed on May 1st. A flea market and a garage sale are organized on the second Wednesday of August.

A silk painting festival takes place in May with demonstrations.

Every year, on the weekend following July 14, the town hosts a fashion show with carnival and parade, and organizes, for the occasion, a ball, as well as a fireworks display.
