Town in the Haute-Loire region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Sainte-Sigolène takes place about fifty kilometers from the beautiful city of Puy-en-Velay. It is located more than 800 meters above sea level, close to Monistrol-sur-Loire, and Lapte Dunières.
Old, City Sainte-Sigolène, which is the only one in France to carry the name, had a peaceful history, gradually forging the face that it is today. Its economy has been strongly marked by the trimmings and plastics. Renowned for over four hundred years for her ribbons and silk scarves, she gradually turned to the production of polyethylene following the textile crisis after World War II.
Today Sainte-Sigolène always welcomes casual visitors, revealing to them an architectural and cultural heritage of great interest.
