The charming town of Olivet is located near Orleans in the Loiret department in the region Loire Valley. Much of the town is located in a flood zone because of its proximity to the river, the Loiret, a resurgence of the Loire. The history of the town is rich and dates back to the Merovingian. It is indeed at this time that are created villages on the banks of the Loire and in particular one of them bearing the name of Saint-Martin-of-Loiret which will become Olivet on. At the time, the land is flooded and it was the monks who managed to clean up in order to grow. Small farming village for a very long time, Olivet has experienced exponential population growth, especially during the twentieth century.
