Green city and flowered city, Saint-Avertin enjoys a privileged position at the crossroads of tourist routes of Touraine and the Way of Santiago de Compostela. On the banks of the Cher, it is a welcoming and authentic city that awaits you. The history has not been tender with her since the village of yesteryear was burned in 1356 because of its bridge over the Cher. Rebuilt, the village then flourished in agricultural activity and the surrounding fields lend themselves largely to the exploitation of crops.
