Common city of Lyon in the Rhone department, region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Saint-Didier-au-Mont-d'Or takes place just outside Lyon. Considered one of the richest towns in the suburbs of Lyon, it is also located near Limonest or Dardilly Ecully.

Of very ancient origin, the common Saint-Didier-au-Mont-d'Or begins to develop in the Middle Ages, thanks to the church fortification at the end of the fourteenth century that aims to protect the residents from invasions. But it was in the sixteenth century that the city experienced its golden age thanks to the opening of large Saint-Fortunat in careers that saw the arrival of the great Italian craftsmen introduced by Francis.

Things to see and do

Rich and full of charm, Saint-Didier-au-Mont-d'Or commune has several ancient castles to discover during a walk, like those of the Golden Mount seventeenth century Mouterde of the seventeenth century or St Andrew's Quince. The latter, built in the sixteenth century to the archbishops of Lyon, is now registered as an historic monument for its common, its boundary wall, a retaining wall, its park, its terrace and its tower. The weekly market is held every Wednesday morning. A scholarship to clothing is also traditionally offered in spring and fall.

Each year around the Saint-Didier, May 23, the town organizes its traditional vogue.

Festival dedicated to humor and music, the festival of Nuits Saint-Didier offers its shows in June.

In early September, up animations of the Feast of St. Fortunat.

The wine fair is held every first weekend in December.
