Saint-Max

A large Napoleon III style mansion, the Château Center Culturel dates from the second half of the 19th century. Completely renovated in the 2010s to accommodate the library-media library as well as association rooms, the building notably reveals inside a beautiful stone staircase with wrought iron banister as well as a carved wooden fireplace.

While strolling in the city, you will be able to appreciate the richness of its religious architectural heritage, in particular by admiring the neo-Gothic Saint-Livier church of the XIXth century, the Saint-Médard church with its Roman tower and its capitals from the 12th century, the Saint-Michel church or the chapel of the Gueule du Loup.

To take advantage of sunny days and appreciate the local fauna, head for the wooded path in the woods of Libremont, inaugurated at the end of the 2010s. A totem pole has been erected there to illustrate the legend of the famous Gueule de Loup.

A clearance sale is offered every year at Pentecost.

The Bicycle Travel Festival sets down its suitcases at Saint-Max at the beginning of January.

In March, make way for the carnival and its great carnival.

The Easter egg hunt traditionally takes place in April.

In May, it's time for the screenings of the Saint-Max Film Festival.

In mid-July, the town celebrates the national holiday with a large fireworks display.

Every early September, the town hosts its Potato, Terroirs and Sustainable Development festival.

At the beginning of December, it's time for the Saint-Nicolas parade and its festivities.
