Built in the second half of the 19th century by Alfred Magne, son of Napoleon III's finance minister, Château Magne is a very beautiful neo-17th century building. Listed as a Historic Monument, this private property not accessible to the public is surrounded by a vast park which also houses the small castle of Trélissac and the ruins of the old Gothic church.
Made of bricks and stones, Château Magne is in the Second Empire style but with Renaissance inspirations. It takes the form of a high rectangular main building flanked by two pavilions with a polygonal tower.
Bought by a property developer in the 2000s, it has been converted into several luxury apartments.
