Depart from the Tourist Office at Chamrousse 1650 (Le Recoin) opposite the cable railway.
Departing from the Tourist Office, follow the directions for GR 549, head towards the CAF (1,730 m), then La Balme (1,820 m).
Once you are past La Balme, head up to the Col de Balme pass (1,820 m), follow GR 549 along this rocky itinerary via the Southern Breach (Brèche Sud).
Once you are past the Breach, the itinerary leads you to the Robert Lakes.
You can take a circular walk back via the North Breach (Brèche Nord), which leads to Lake Pourettes (1,819 m).
Head towards the Cave (La Grotte, at 1,773 m) then the Col de l'Aiguille pass (1,819 m) which offers nice views of the Grenoble valley.
Head towards the CAF, and you have reached the starting point at Chamrousse Tourist Office 1650 (Le Recoin).
