Visit to a Knights Templar village

Depart from the hamlet of Luc, near Campestre.

Take the GR 71 to the northern edge of the Luc estate, on the right of the D 273. After passing through Salbouch Wood, descend gradually to the Virenque Gorges, the sides of which are covered in oak trees, the remains of a medieval forest which used to cover most of the Causses. Follow the dried-out river bed for a short while, then climb to La Couvertoirade past oak trees and over moors; you will arrive at a large drinking area for cattle in the Templar village. Visit the village. Return via the same route.
